LATAM Airlines recently introduced the “Eco Kits”, its new concept of amenities for passengers traveling in the Premium Business cabin, based on local design and the gradual incorporation of sustainable elements in the service. Of these, the bag stands out, designed to be reusable and versatile. In addition, it will be varied in design, making it collectible and with a very long useful life.
→ LATAM Airlines will resume flights to Australia and New Zealand.
Following its commitment to eliminate single-use plastics, the bag is delivered without packaging, while its contents are more environmentally friendly by incorporating some reusable materials such as a bamboo toothbrush with a sugarcane cap. The packaging of the earplugs is made of kraft paper to minimize the use of plastic materials and the socks and eye covers are made of recycled plastic.
The toiletry bag also includes cosmetic products (hand cream, lip balm and refreshing towel) produced by Feito Brasil, a brand certified as Company B (certification that recognizes management in the financial, social and environmental areas) and which has pillars based on sustainability (Cruelty Free and Vegan, natural ingredients, raw materials and local production, handmade by artisans in that country).
→ LATAM Airlines adds support to its Reorganization Plan.
Another point to consider is the design, the work of South American artists chosen for their emerging trajectory and/or for being transformers of their communities. The first two artists to join this initiative are Tomás Olivos (Chile) and Hamilton Aguiar (Brazil). The following designs will be by artists from Ecuador, Peru, Colombia and Argentina.
Passengers on the Santiago de Chile – Madrid – Santiago de Chile and São Paulo/Guarulhos – Miami – São Paulo/Guarulhos routes will be the first to have sustainable elements in the onboard service, which will be progressively implemented on the rest of the routes during 2022.
