Panama: Tocumen Airport Terminal 2 to officially begin operations on June 22

Panama City’s Tocumen International Airport announced Friday that it will begin processing arriving and departing passengers through Terminal 2 starting next Wednesday, June 22.

Copa Airlines will be the first to operate from the new Terminal. Subsequently, KLM, United and Air France will move their operations to the new terminal.

As part of the changes in travel customs, as of June 22, passengers must verify with the airline their corresponding arrival and departure terminal.

The General Manager of Tocumen International Airport, S.A. Raffoul Arab explained that Terminal 2 has comfortable immigration and customs areas that triple the capacity of the current ones in Terminal 1.

“The total opening of Terminal 2 is a coordinated effort with the government institutions operating at the airport, led by President Laurentino Cortizo. It includes the activation of communication systems, immigration, customs, police and sanitary protocols, aircraft services, commercial activity, public parking and ground connections,” Arab detailed.

Terminal 1 will continue operating as usual.
