AerCap orders 5 Boeing 787 aircraft and Aviation Capital Group 12 737 MAX
Boeing and AerCap announced Tuesday that the global lessor is adding to its significant 787 Dreamliner portfolio with an order for five additional 787-9 jets.

AerCap now has 125 Dreamliners in the pipeline or on order. The company, the world’s largest 787 customer, continues to invest in the 787 family, which has received more than 700 orders from 47 customers worldwide.
“AerCap oversees a world-class leasing portfolio, epitomized by the most widely used widebody in the industry, the 787 Dreamliner,” said Ihssane Mounir, senior vice president of commercial sales and marketing for Boeing. “With its unparalleled fuel efficiency and passenger appeal, the 787 Dreamliner family is playing an important role in sustaining, reopening and developing new routes in the long-haul market.”
For its part, Aviation Capital Group (ACG) announced at the Farnborough International Air Show that the aircraft lessor is expanding its 737 MAX portfolio with an order for an additional 12 737-8 aircraft.

Today’s announcement will see ACG expand its 737 MAX order book to 34 aircraft. Boeing is experiencing strong market demand for the 737 MAX family, with more than 1,000 gross orders across all models since the end of 2020.
“This latest incremental order for the 737 MAX enables ACG to offer highly fuel-efficient aircraft to our airline customers around the world,” said Mahoko Hara, CEO of ACG. “These additional 737 MAX aircraft will help position ACG’s order book for a recovery in air traffic coming out of the pandemic.”
