As of March 26, LATAM Airlines will change the type of aircraft and thus double the capacity of its route between Sao Paulo-Guarulhos and Barcelona (Spain). With a current occupancy rate of close to 90%, the four weekly flights between the two cities will be operated by a Boeing 777 (410 passengers) instead of a Boeing 767 (225 passengers).
“We are the Brazilian airline with the largest number of international flights and destinations and the only one with our own flights to Spain. The end of the Covid-19 restrictions and the continuous increase in the desire to travel are the reasons for the growth in the occupancy of our flights to Barcelona. And the ability to meet this demand is a great strength of LATAM that reflects our own commitment to Brazil. In 2023,” commented Aline Mafra, LATAM Brazil Sales and Marketing Director.

The airline resumed operations between Sao Paulo and Barcelona in November 2021, following the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Last year, the airline carried more than 76,000 passengers to/from the Spanish city on 399 flights.
LATAM’S NEW MENU ON INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS
LATAM has just launched its new menu for its international flights for the Premium Business cabin. For flights departing from Brazil and lasting more than 7 hours -as is the case of Barcelona-, the menu now includes a signature dish (lunch and dinner) signed by Bahian chef Nara Amaral. It is the Baião de Dois ao Mar (rice, beans and seafood). Every three months, the airline will update this dish, which will always be signed by a chef from a specific region of Brazil. Soon, this novelty should also be included in the international menu in the Economy cabin.
