LATAM and Delta Air Lines inaugurated a new direct route between Sao Paulo and Los Angeles, the first of their Joint Venture in the Brazilian market.

The route will be operated by LATAM three times a week on Boeing 777 aircraft, with capacity for 38 passengers in Premium Business, 50 in Economy+ and 322 in Economy. Starting in November, it will be operated on Boeing 787-9 aircraft, with capacity for 30 customers in Premium Business, 57 in Premium Economy and 213 in Economy.

“The inauguration of this flight between Brazil and the U.S. West Coast is the result of the union of two global carriers that now offer customers simpler and faster travel with the best routes, schedules and connections,” said Aline Mafra, LATAM Brazil Sales and Marketing Director.

Delta to resume flights between Atlanta and Curaçao this winter

“The United States is one of the favorite international destinations for Brazilian travelers, so we are very pleased to launch this route between São Paulo and Los Angeles in partnership with LATAM. This direct flight to the West Coast from Brazil, in addition to becoming the fastest and most convenient option for customers to explore this region of the United States, combines with our many reciprocal benefits for frequent flyers, whether traveling for business or pleasure,” said Danillo Barbizan, Delta’s Head of Sales in Brazil.

Los Angeles thus becomes LATAM’s 22nd international destination from Brazil and the fifth in the U.S., after Miami, Orlando, New York (JFK) and Boston.

The new route will have the capacity to carry an average of 110,000 passengers per year between the two cities, reinforcing LATAM’s commitment to connect Brazil with the world.

Delta, meanwhile, offers daily flights from São Paulo to Atlanta and New York (JFK) and, starting in December, from Rio de Janeiro to Atlanta and New York (seasonal operation).

Notably, from Los Angeles, LATAM customers will also be able to connect quickly on Delta flights to more than 20 U.S. destinations, including San Francisco, Las Vegas and Seattle.
