The lessor also announced Tuesday that it agreed with Boeing to purchase an additional 40 737-8 aircraft to expand its 737 MAX portfolio to more than 110 aircraft.

The new order is subject to approval by the shareholders of Bohai Leasing Co, Avolon’s major shareholder, and will be posted on Boeing’s order and delivery website when finalized.

“These orders strengthen our delivery portfolio and reflect our confidence in the long-term aviation growth outlook,” said Andy Cronin, Avolon CEO.
