With just a few months to go before KLM takes delivery of its first Airbus A321neo, the airline announced details of what the livery and interior of the new aircraft will look like.

New striking and practical livery

The line between blue and white will be below the nose, making the nose completely blue. This ensures that, in case of replacement, the aircraft can be quickly and easily fitted with a new nose without interrupting the familiar blue pattern. Another distinctive feature is the use of the black color of the cockpit windows, reminiscent of sunglasses.

Increased comfort

A321neo passengers enjoy greater comfort thanks to wider seats, larger tables and spacious baggage compartments. Each seat is equipped with a tablet holder and USB connection, and the multi-color “mood lighting” provides the right illumination during each stage of the journey.

The new aircraft also offers more space for the crew thanks to a wider aisle and easily accessible baggage compartments.

The A321neo’s interior has been carefully designed to enhance the KLM experience, with more blue accents and special lighting at the entrance ensuring a warm welcome.

“The arrival of the A321neo represents a major upgrade to our European fleet. The aircraft produces up to 50% less noise and 15% lower CO2 emissions compared to the aircraft it replaces, marking an important step towards cleaner, quieter and more economical flights,” said Marjan Rintel, CEO of KLM.

The airline expects to take to the skies for the first time with the new aircraft in August. KLM recently announced that the first destinations will be Copenhagen, Berlin and Stockholm.
