Turkish Airlines lands in Sydney, Australia
Turkish Airlines inaugurated Thursday flights between Istanbul and Sydney, with a stopover in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), becoming its second destination in Australia after Melbourne.
The new route will initially operate four weekly frequencies on Boeing 777-300 aircraft with capacity for 349 passengers. Beginning in June 2025, the airline will expand to five flights per week.

Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Ekşi described the launch as a historic moment, underlining the airline’s commitment to global connectivity.
Turkish Airlines plans to introduce ultra-long-range aircraft in 2026, which will allow it to operate this route nonstop.
