Alaska Airlines announced Tuesday that beginning May 15, 2025, it will launch new daily routes and additional services that will strengthen connectivity from Portland to key destinations both in and out of Oregon.
New Routes and Increased Connectivity
A highlight of the announcement is the new Portland-Houston route, a direct daily connection. This flight is particularly significant as Houston was previously the largest city without direct service from Portland. The new route promises to attract both business and leisure travelers, offering convenient departure times: the flight will leave Portland at 10:30 a.m. and Houston at 6:00 p.m.

Additionally, Alaska Airlines will resume its Portland-Eugene service with two daily flights. This route is carefully scheduled to provide convenience for travelers, with an early flight at 5:30 a.m. from Eugene and a return at 9:55 p.m., allowing for a full day in Portland without overnight stays.
Moreover, the Medford-San Diego route will also begin with daily flights, strengthening Alaska Airlines’ presence in both destinations and facilitating access between southern Oregon and southern California.
Increased Services within Oregon
Beyond the new routes, Alaska Airlines will boost its flights within Oregon. The Portland-Medford route will increase to four daily flights, and the Portland-Redmond service will be offered three times daily year-round. These enhancements underscore the airline’s ongoing commitment to the state of Oregon and its residents.
