Wingo has announced a significant expansion of its international capacity ahead of the mid-year peak season, aligning its strategy with the school holiday period in Colombia. The airline will add 33,000 seats across five key routes, equivalent to approximately 180 additional flights between June and August 2025. This move represents an 18% growth in its international offering during these months.
Five Routes Reactivated to Strategic Destinations
Starting the week of June 16, Wingo will resume five international routes connecting Colombian cities with popular Caribbean destinations.
The routes returning to Wingo’s network are:
- Bogotá – Cancún: Three weekly frequencies beginning Tuesday, June 17.
- Medellín – Cancún: Two weekly frequencies starting Monday, June 16.
- Bogotá – Curaçao: Two weekly frequencies from Wednesday, June 18.
- Medellín – Curaçao: Also two weekly frequencies beginning June 18.
- Cali – Aruba: Two weekly flights starting Thursday, June 19.

This operational plan will add over 4,000 weekly seats to the airline’s international capacity.
Jorge Jiménez, Wingo’s Vice President of Commercial and Planning, emphasized that this strategy directly addresses the needs of the Colombian market: “For 2025, Wingo continues to work on offering a network product tailored to the needs and preferences of our travelers. The reactivation of these five routes, focused on the peak vacation season, reflects not only our understanding of travelers but also our commitment to providing additional low-cost seats precisely when the market demands them.”
With this increase in frequencies and seats, Wingo strengthens its position as a key player in air connectivity between Colombia and the Caribbean. By betting on seasonal routes adjusted to market demand, the airline remains competitive and relevant without compromising its low-cost business model.
