Delta Air Lines has inaugurated its first direct flight between Salt Lake City and Seoul-Incheon. This new daily connection not only links two strategic cities but also establishes an unprecedented bridge between the western United States and Asia.
Opening Ceremony: Culture and Hospitality Onboard
A symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the boarding of Delta’s state-of-the-art A350, a flagship aircraft that reflects the airline’s commitment to innovation and customer experience. Passengers were greeted with Korean-language entertainment, traditional menus, and bilingual crew, highlighting the attention to cultural details from the very first moment of the journey.
With this, Salt Lake City becomes the fifth U.S. city where Delta offers nonstop flights to Seoul, following Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Seattle.
A Strategic Move in Transpacific Expansion
This new route is part of a long-term strategy: by enhancing connectivity between Asia and the western United States, Delta and its partner Korean Air are facilitating access to an increasingly robust global network. Thanks to this collaboration, a significant portion of the U.S. population is now just one connection away from Salt Lake City, representing a key advancement for both business travelers and tourists.
“With the launch of this new ICN–SLC route, Delta is offering its customers in Asia even greater access to our expanding global network. Through our strong partnership with Korean Air, most destinations in the U.S. are now within reach from Seoul via direct flights or with just one stop,” said Jeff Moomaw, Delta’s Vice President for Asia Pacific.
The takeoff of the inaugural flight marks a firm step toward greater economic and cultural integration between two key regions of the world. With a clear vision and flawless execution, Delta reinforces its leadership in global aviation, opening the doors to a future of borderless connectivity.
