British Airways announced this Thursday a reinforcement of its Summer 2026 schedule, with a significant increase in frequencies to long-haul destinations from its London Gatwick and Heathrow bases. The British airline aims to offer its customers greater flexibility and options when planning their next holidays.
Bangkok: Year-Round Flights
The Thai capital will cease to be a seasonal destination. Starting summer 2026, British Airways will operate three weekly flights from Gatwick to Bangkok year-round, increasing to six weekly frequencies in the winter. This represents a notable expansion compared to the previous schedule, which was focused solely on the winter season.
With this move, the company will add almost 60,000 additional seats and strengthen its codeshare alliance with Bangkok Airways, enabling seamless connections to Phuket, Phnom Penh, and other points in Southeast Asia.
Jamaica: Increased Capacity to the Caribbean
The route between London Gatwick and Kingston, Jamaica, will increase to four weekly flights in summer 2026, up from the current three frequencies. According to the Jamaica Tourist Board, the country expects to welcome five million visitors before March 31, 2026, reflecting a strong tourism recovery. With this reinforcement, British Airways will add over 300 weekly seats and consolidate its position as the British airline with the longest history in the Caribbean.

- New York (JFK) will be concentrated at Heathrow, with nine daily flights, including an operation on the Boeing 777-200 featuring First class and Club Suite, elevating the premium experience on this flagship route.
Middle East: Enhanced Strategic Connectivity
The airline is also betting on the Middle East:
- Bahrain will have daily flights, more than double the previous offering.
- Jeddah will increase to five weekly frequencies.
- Riyadh will increase to 14 services per week.
- Doha will reach 14 weekly flights, strengthening connectivity to and from Qatar.
Europe: Short-Haul Network Expansion
On the regional front, British Airways expanded its short-haul route map this year with new connections to Rabat (Morocco) and Graz (Austria). BA Euroflyer, its subsidiary at Gatwick, will operate both destinations regularly starting in winter 2025.
Neil Chernoff, Director of Planning and Strategy at British Airways, stated: “We’re delighted to be growing our long-haul network from London Heathrow and Gatwick next summer, adding more services to some of our most popular destinations. Whether travelling for business, pleasure, or visiting family, we look forward to customers making the most of these new options that make it easier to connect with their favourite places across the globe.”
