SAS Announces Major Network Expansion for Summer 2026
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has unveiled its most ambitious schedule for the summer 2026 season, featuring a network that includes nine new routes, six destinations never served before, and a significant increase in intercontinental connectivity. With this move, the airline strengthens Copenhagen’s position as the major hub of Northern Europe and confirms its long-term strategy: to solidify its role as a bridge between Scandinavia and the rest of the world.
The plan represents a 20% increase in seat capacity from Copenhagen, translating to a 50% rise in connection opportunities compared to previous seasons. This is the largest summer schedule in SAS’s history, offering a balance of high-frequency routes aimed at business travelers and leisure options that provide greater flexibility, accessibility, and smoother connections.
Punctuality as a Hallmark
This growth is supported by the company’s solid operational reputation. Over the past year, SAS has been repeatedly recognized as the most punctual airline in Europe and the world, a distinction that underscores the reliability and precision its passengers value.

Season Extension and Increased Frequencies
In addition to the new routes, SAS will extend the operating period for several services that previously ran only during peak demand months. This is the case for flights between Copenhagen-Ålesund, Copenhagen-Edinburgh, and Copenhagen-Thessaloniki, which will now be available throughout the season.
Simultaneously, frequencies will be increased on more than 30 existing routes. From Copenhagen alone, additional departures will be added to over 25 destinations, including Berlin, Brussels, Budapest, Krakow, Prague, Seoul, Tallinn, and Tokyo. From Stockholm, there will be more flights to Brussels, Dublin, Paris, and Vaasa, while Oslo will see increased capacity to Brussels, Dublin, and Reykjavik.
