Air Canada Expands Its Transatlantic Network for Summer 2026 with New Routes to Europe
Air Canada has announced an expansion of its global schedule for the summer of 2026, strengthening its presence in Europe and resuming operations to the Middle East. The airline will add new routes from Toronto, Montreal, and Halifax, solidifying the second-largest transatlantic network in North America by number of destinations.
Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Air Canada, emphasized that these additions aim to offer greater connectivity, strengthen economic ties, and support tourism. With this expansion, the company will reach over 126 global destinations and offer up to 155,000 weekly seats across Atlantic, Pacific, and South American markets.
New Routes from Montreal
Montreal – Berlin
The German capital is being added to Air Canada’s map with direct flights three times per week, operated on the Airbus A321XLR, equipped with Business class cabins featuring lie-flat seats and Economy class.

Air Canada will inaugurate flights to São Miguel in the Portuguese archipelago, strengthening cultural ties between Canada and Portugal. It will be the third Portuguese city in the airline’s network.

The Belgian capital is being added as the second international route from Halifax, alongside London Heathrow. Flights will operate three times per week on narrow-body aircraft with Premium and Economy cabins.

Return of the Montreal – Tel Aviv Route
Air Canada will resume its seasonal service between Montreal and Tel Aviv, operated with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, complementing the existing route from Toronto.

A Growing Global Network

With these additions, Air Canada reinforces its position as one of the airlines with the broadest international reach in North America, offering passengers more options to travel and explore key destinations in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
