Emirates Flight Training Academy (EFTA) celebrated the graduation of its sixth class, welcoming 77 new highly skilled pilots into the global aviation industry. After months of intensive training, the cadets have transformed their aspiration to fly into a concrete reality, reinforcing the academy’s role as one of the foremost talent pipelines for Emirates and the international air sector.

A New Milestone in Pilot Training

This annual ceremony solidifies EFTA’s trajectory as a robust channel for professional pilots. With this class, the academy surpasses 300 cadets graduated since its inception, many of whom are already flying or are in training on Emirates’ wide-body fleet.

The event was attended by the senior management of the Emirates Group, along with family members, friends, instructors, and students, in a ceremony that underscored the strategic importance of aviation training for the future of air transport.

A Message from Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum

The ceremony was led by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline & Group, who highlighted the symbolic value of this graduation for global aviation.

He noted that the event represents the establishment of a stronger foundation for the industry and the promise that its future rests on committed, capable, and resilient leaders. He affirmed that the new pilots will wear their wings with pride, connect the world, uphold the highest standards of safety and service, and contribute to shaping the air sector. Each graduate reflects potential and perseverance, as well as Emirates’ commitment to creating a steady stream of aviators aligned with Dubai’s vision.

Composition of the Sixth Class

Of the 77 graduated cadets, 52 belong to the UAE National Cadet Pilot Programme (NCPP), while 25 come from 15 different countries, reinforcing the academy’s international character.

Over the past five years, EFTA has trained over 300 highly qualified cadets, solidifying its direct contribution to Emirates’ operations and the global aviation ecosystem.

A Model of Comprehensive Training

Emirates Flight Training Academy is distinguished by a unique approach that combines academic excellence, modern flight instruction technology, and leadership development. This model prepares world-class pilots capable of operating some of the most sophisticated wide-body aircraft in the sky.

The journey from the classroom to the cockpit is supported by strong partnerships with the NCPP and Emirates’ flight training division, ensuring the preparation received aligns with the airline’s operational standards, corporate culture, and requirements.

A Campus Designed for Performance

Located in Dubai South, the academy offers an environment that integrates study and lifestyle. Cadets reside in private studio apartments and have access to facilities such as a swimming pool, gym, and recreational lounges, allowing them to focus fully on a demanding program with minimal distractions and no need for daily commutes.

Top-Tier Infrastructure

EFTA’s facilities span an area equivalent to 200 football fields. The complex features 36 modern classrooms, six full-motion flight simulators, an independent air traffic control tower, and a dedicated 1,800-meter runway.

Each classroom is equipped with two 86-inch touch screens, running training software specifically designed by Boeing, reinforcing the technological and advanced nature of the training provided.

With this sixth graduation, Emirates Flight Training Academy reaffirms its key role in preparing the next generation of pilots, directly contributing to the future of commercial aviation.
