Consolidating the French Market

France has been a foundational pillar of the airline’s network for decades. Historically, the carrier has operated scheduled services to Paris and Marseille. With the addition of Lyon, Ethiopian Airlines increases its French destinations to three, boosting its brand positioning in this key market and expanding its operational footprint across Europe.

Mesfin Tasew, Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, highlighted the significance of the launch: “We are truly delighted to connect our passengers to an additional gateway in France with our new flights to Lyon. The addition of Lyon further strengthens these long-standing ties, providing greater connectivity and more travel options for passengers moving between France and Ethiopian Airlines’ extensive network.”

The deployment of this route reaffirms the airline’s mission to connect Africa with the world’s major economic hubs.
