Wingo to Resume Flights to Caracas, Maintaining Three Direct Routes Between Colombia and Venezuela
Low-cost carrier Wingo has announced the resumption of its operations to Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, serving Caracas, starting September 7, 2026.
The operational schedule to Venezuela’s primary gateway will be structured as follows:
- Bogota – Caracas: Resuming operations with seven weekly frequencies, equivalent to one daily flight.
- Medellin – Caracas: Operating with three weekly frequencies.
This reactivation at Venezuela’s main airport adds to the airline’s ongoing service between El Dorado International Airport in Bogota and Arturo Michelena International Airport in Valencia. The Bogota–Valencia route, launched on July 3, 2026, will continue operating with three weekly frequencies, having served as Wingo’s primary connectivity option while flights to Maiquetía were suspended.
Network Consolidation and Available Capacity
With the restoration of these schedules, Wingo’s transborder network between both nations will consist of three point-to-point routes: Bogota–Caracas, Medellin–Caracas, and Bogota–Valencia.
Combined, the offer will reach 13 weekly frequencies, representing nearly 80,000 round-trip seats between September 7 and the end of 2026.

“Wingo has maintained a sustained presence in air connectivity between Colombia and Venezuela, and our commitment to this market remains long-term. During the suspension of operations in Maiquetía, we maintained our footprint via Valencia. Now that conditions allow us to resume flights to Caracas, we expect to progressively rebuild our operation while offering direct, affordable, and reliable alternatives for passengers traveling between both countries,” stated Jorge Jiménez, Vice President of Commercial and Planning at Wingo.
