President Ivan Duque said during the program ‘Prevention and Action’ that “all airports in the national territory are enabled from September 1, but the routes and frequencies will be part of the connectivity plan of the Mintransport.

We will have very clear guidelines on issues such as national air transport, which we want to open much more quickly, but obviously with special observance in those municipalities of high affectation,” said Duque.

In his speech, the Deputy Minister of Public Relations of the Ministry of Interior, Daniel Palacios, confirmed that from September 1 all airports in the country will enter into service. “While the sanitary emergency continues, they will have specific routes and biosecurity controls. The routes and frequencies will be part of the connectivity plan of the Mintransport and the Aerocivil”, he added.

The President also reviewed the latest measures adopted by the government in response to the health crisis that has arisen in the country due to the new coronavirus pandemic and explained details of the entry into the new phase called selective isolation and responsible individual distancing.

“During the whole month of September we will be observing the behavior of the pandemic, how the measures are going, how the protocols are advancing, how the whole response capacity is articulated with governors and mayors,” Duque added.
