1.4 million customers of the Lufthansa airline group are still waiting for refunds in the first half of the year, marked by the coronavirus pandemic, the company said Friday.
However, the company explained that it has paid 2.3 billion euros in refunds to 5.4 million customers in the current fiscal year until August 16.
With these data, Lufthansa has already paid about 92% of all reimbursements in the first half, so 8% is still pending. “The objective is still to pay the justified claims received at the end of June by the end of August,” the company said.
As explained by the German airline, the processes have been adapted to the exceptional situation so that reimbursements can be made more quickly.
