Two TAP airplanes took off this Thursday shortly after midday from the airports of Gran Canaria and Tenerife to Lisbon, marking the resumption of the operation with direct flights between the Canary Islands and the Portuguese capital.

This is highlighted in a statement from the company, which adds that the first TAP flight leaving Gran Canaria after the suspension of flights due to the pandemic, the TP1119, has been operated with the A319 CS-TTS, departing at 12:15.

The three weekly flights rescheduled in September -Monday, Thursday and Sunday- will depart at 8.10 am.

In Tenerife, the flights were restarted with the Airbus A319, registration CS-TTM, with departure at 12:15 hours and numbered TP1127, and the company will operate three weekly flights in September -Monday, Thursday and Saturday- with departure at 8:15 hours.

The TAP is gradually recovering its operation, connecting the world through its privileged geographical position in Portugal, to boost tourism and the economy, the press release points out.

For the coming months, TAP foresees more destinations, more frequencies and greater connectivity for its passengers.

Likewise, the airline allows until the end of September that all reservations on flights to TAP’s destinations benefit from a free change, for greater flexibility to passengers.
