Boeing loses $3.453 million through September and expects more layoffs.
Boeing recorded a cumulative loss of $3,453 million in the first nine months of 2020, compared to a profit of 374 million in the same period of the previous year, so it expects more “voluntary and involuntary workforce reductions”.

According to information released by the U.S. company on Wednesday, its sales between January and September fell by 27% to 42,854 million due to the impact of covid-19 and the shutdown of its 737 MAX aircraft, EFE reported.

Boeing, which does not foresee a further reduction in its aircraft production, recorded losses of $449 million in the third quarter of this year.
Boeing president and chief executive officer Dave Calhoun said the pandemic “continued to put pressure” on the firm’s results during the third quarter, for which it is “managing liquidity” and transforming its business model so that it is “sustainable in the long term.
Boeing announced that it will cut 7,000 more jobs by 2022, leaving the number employed at 130,000; 30,000 fewer than at the beginning of the year.
