Conviasa announces flights to Russia and Iran from December.

The Venezuelan airline Conviasa is preparing to assume a new phase of expansion of its international connections, with the strengthening of the quality of its services and the expansion of its fleet of aircraft. This was announced by the Vice Minister for Air Transport of the Ministry of People’s Power for Transport and President of Conviasa, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán.

The extension of the service offer contemplates the activation of new international connections.

In this sense, Velasquez announced that for the first week of December operations to Russia and Iran will begin, Ultimas Noticias reported.

“We visualize for the first week of December the opening of flights to Moscow and Teheran formally, we are seeing if we project also Italy, Portugal and China, apart from the Spanish speaking countries”.

In order to comply with this new stage of expansion, the Vice-Minister of Air Transport informed that by the month of November, an Airbus A340-300 aircraft will be added to the fleet of the state airline, in addition to the Airbus A340-200 that is currently in operation.

“We managed to buy an Airbus A340-300 plane, which we already paid for, this second plane God willing should be arriving by the third or fourth week of November,” said Velasquez.

Conviasa also plans to acquire three Airbus A340-500 aircraft, which will cover the demand for passengers outside the country.
