Iberia should have no problem operating in European Union airspace after Brexit, Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said at a press conference after the bloc’s summit in Brussels. IAG, which owns British Airways, Iberia and Aer Lingus, is a UK-based company registered in Spain, Reuters reported.

“In relation to air transport, we have been working for some time, at least since 2018 in the government, first with IAG and the Commission to provide an answer, a way out, a solution to this issue. Today I have to tell you that, in principle, is resolved,” said Sanchez.
“There would be no problem for Iberia to operate in European airspace after the United Kingdom’s departure from the Union. Sanchez gave no further details.
