Jet2 has extended the suspension of flights until June 23 due to the uncertainty and lack of clarity generated by a report issued by the Global Travel Taskforce, the UK-based entity, which assures that it cannot guarantee on what date travel can be resumed.

On Friday the government confirmed that foreign vacations to some destinations will be possible from May 17. Countries will be rated green, amber or red based on a range of criteria such as vaccinations, infection rates and the prevalence of “variants of concern”, but the government said it was too early to reveal which countries will be on the list.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said in a statement that the company is “extremely disappointed by the lack of clarity and detail” under the Global Travel Taskforce.

In the event that customers who have yet to travel are affected by any changes to the program, the airline will automatically cancel their booking with a full refund, and its team of travel experts will contact them to help them book their summer travel by the end of the year.
