Iberia inaugurated new route between Madrid and Maldives.
On July 3, Iberia landed in the paradisiacal Maldives, famous for its natural beauty and turquoise water and white sand beaches, as well as for its safety in front of the COVID.
During the months of July and August, the airline will operate three weekly direct flights to Malé, capital of the Maldives, departing from Madrid on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and returning to Spain on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The flights will be operated by Airbus A330-200 and A330-300 aircraft with capacity for 288 and 292 passengers, respectively, with a seating capacity of 15,120. With the Airbus A330-300s, Iberia will also offer Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabins.
“The route to the Maldives is Iberia’s first tourist destination in the Indian Ocean, which has proved to be one of the safest countries in the face of COVID-19,” said María Jesús López Solás, Commercial Director, Network Development & Alliances. “Without a doubt, the Maldives is our star destination for this summer and at Iberia we are committed to diversifying our offer and attracting more sustainable and quality tourism,” she added.
