Iberia plans to fly to Dallas and Washington D.C. in 2022, the CEO of the airline’s parent company said Friday.

International Airlines Group CEO Luis Gallego announced the routes, which are scheduled to begin operating next summer, as part of the carrier’s third-quarter earnings call. The flights are likely to depart from Madrid, its largest base, but could also depart from Barcelona, which has no direct service to Dallas airport.

Iberia recovers pre-pandemic capacity levels in Colombia.

Gallego did not provide additional details on the exact date these routes would begin operating, frequency or which aircraft they will use.

The announcement comes just days before the United States lifts restrictions on vaccinated travelers from 33 countries.
