Work on the new passenger terminal at Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima (Peru) will begin in December, according to the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC).
“Following the signing of the contract for the design and construction of the new passenger terminal at Jorge Chávez International Airport, the first stone of the work is scheduled to be laid during the second week of December”, they announced.

This new building is part of the airport’s modernization and expansion project and will require an investment of US$ 700 million.
The work, which will be three times larger than the current airport passenger terminal, will help reactivate the economy by generating the creation of 3,500 jobs.
The other works of the airport’s integral modernization and expansion project are already underway, including the construction of a second runway and the construction of a second air traffic control tower.
In general, the MTC estimates that the overall investment of the entire modernization project of Jorge Chávez airport will be US$ 1,200 million, according to RPP Noticias.
