The Swiss company CH-Aviation -provider of aviation intelligence and data analysis- recognized SKY for the second consecutive year, in the first place in the ranking of the youngest airlines in the region, consolidating it as the airline with the most modern fleet in South America and the second worldwide in 2022, with only 1.99 years old.

LATAM Airlines projects 72% operation for January.

“For us it is essential to be able to offer our passengers a service that is above all convenient, with affordable prices, in the newest fleet on the continent, which is also more efficient and environmentally friendly, and has the highest safety standards worldwide,” said SKY’s Commercial Director, Carmen Gloria Serrat.

SKY closed its fleet renewal in 2021 with a total of 28 aircraft, of which 25 are A320 neo and 3 are A321 neo, becoming the only airline with 100% neo aircraft, whose main advantage is the increase in fuel efficiency and the reduction of CO2 emissions of the aircraft.

Best practices in operational safety worldwide

SKY recently obtained for the fourth time in Chile and for the first time in Peru, the certification of the Operational Safety Audit Program of the International Air Transport Association, IOSA, the strictest in the airline industry in this area, consolidating its position as a national and regional reference.

SKY is, along with GOL, the only low-cost airline in the region to have this certification. “Obtaining this certification reaffirms SKY’s commitment to quality and operational safety, always ensuring we comply with the best practices in the airline industry,” says Serrat.

Avianca reduces requirements to achieve and maintain LifeMiles Elite status.

For her part, the General Manager in Chile of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Gabriela Peralta commented, “IOSA is the recognized gold standard of airline operational safety audits. Congratulations to SKY on the completion of its IOSA renewal audit”.

Compliance with COVID-19 Protocols

SKY was also recognized as the only airline to receive the highest score in operational safety and COVID-19 protocols by AirlineRaitings.com, one of the best classifiers in the world in this area. SKY is also the first airline in Chile to receive the Covid-19 Seal from the Chilean Safety Association (ACHS), which certifies 100% compliance with COVID-19 standards in its different work establishments.

“For us, the safety and health of our passengers and employees is an unwavering priority. Therefore, we will remain committed to maintaining the highest standards in safety, health and quality, continuing with our mission to make the sky within everyone’s reach,” said Serrat.
