On Monday, January 3, SKY began air operations between Lima and Punta Cana (Dominican Republic). The airline will allow Peruvian tourists to enjoy this Caribbean destination with flights on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
In its three weekly frequencies, the airline plans to transport 4,000 passengers per month, and to date has already sold close to 20 thousand tickets and projects occupancy factors of over 80%.

SKY flight 5580 departed from Jorge Chavez Airport in Lima bound for Punta Cana at 10:05 a.m. with 182 passengers. It was dismissed by SKY’s Commercial Manager, who highlighted the airline’s intentions to continue growing in the region.
“It is a great pleasure to continue contributing to the economic reactivation of Peru and the Dominican Republic. This route is an important part of our commitment to become the low cost carrier for South America, with highly competitive fares and state-of-the-art aircraft. We are grateful to the Dominican authorities and the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics of Peru for the management of permits and authorizations that allowed us to start flights to this new international destination, which marks a promising 2022 for our company,” said Franco Chaparro, commercial manager of SKY in Peru.

The executive was accompanied by the Ambassador of the Dominican Republic in Peru, Alejandro Arias Zarzuela, who highlighted the importance of reactivating travel within the framework of high prevention and security measures “This is a day of great joy for us, since after a difficult period, we can begin to meet again in places we had wanted to visit. I would like to congratulate SKY for taking on this new challenge and contributing to the cultural exchange and competitiveness of both countries”.
With the inauguration of this route, SKY continues its internationalization strategy in South America, taking Lima as an important connection point in the region, with state-of-the-art aircraft and low cost fares.
