Aerolíneas Argentinas confirmed that due to the momentum of the Carnival holidays it reached similar levels to the same period prior to the pandemic in the domestic market.
During the period of Thursday 24 and March 1 it transported 162,478 passengers within the country matching the number of passengers transported during the Carnival holidays of 2020. This means that more than 27,000 passengers per day traveled from one point in the country to another.

The 10 most chosen destinations were: Bariloche, El Calafate, Ushuaia, Mendoza, Iguazú, Córdoba, Salta, Tucumán, Mar del Plata and Neuquén. These destinations represented 57% of the total movement registered during the extra long weekend.
“These are very gratifying numbers because they put us back on a starting point towards sustained growth in the domestic market. From now on, our goal is to increase the number of frequencies, routes and passengers,” explained Pablo Ceriani, president of Aerolíneas Argentinas.
It is worth mentioning that during the Carnival holidays another 32,000 passengers traveled to and from abroad, being the network of regional flights to Brazil, Chile or Uruguay the one that contributed the largest number of passengers with almost 21,000 travelers.
Finally, returning to the domestic market, about half of the passengers transported were from the interior of the country and 20 percent were transported on federal inter-legs without passing through Buenos Aires.
