Iberia adds two new aircraft to its fleet

As a symptom of the gradual recovery and linked to the deployment of its summer program, Iberia is resuming its aircraft delivery schedule with great alacrity.

This week saw the arrival of a new Airbus A350 “Volando” with registration EC-NMZ, the third to join the airline’s fleet in barely a month.

This aircraft, named after the song with which Iberia received its first A350 in 2018, is the last to carry the current cabin configuration. The eight scheduled to join by 2024 will include new features in the Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabins that will enhance the travel experience.

A320neo La Muñoza

This week the airline also took delivery of a new A320neo, with registration number EC-NTO and name “La Muñoza”, in reference to the facilities in Madrid that house Iberia Maintenance’s hangars and workshops.

This A320neo is the third A320neo that the airline has received in the last month, of the six planned for this year.

With the arrival of this new A320neo, Iberia now has eleven aircraft of this model and, by the end of the year, there will be 14 units. The other six aircraft still to arrive will be incorporated during 2023.

Eight more Airbus A321XLRs

The end of 2023 is also scheduled to see the arrival of the first of the eight A321XLR aircraft ordered by IAG for Iberia in 2019. This new aircraft model will allow the airline to operate new transatlantic destinations and increase frequencies in key markets.
