In line with the objective of strengthening its point-to-point network, Avianca inaugurated the route that will connect for the first time the southwest and east of Colombia without stopovers, with the takeoff of flights AV 9369 and AV9368 that connected the airports Alfonso Bonilla Aragón in Cali and Palonegro in Lebrija, which serves the city of Bucaramanga.

This is one of the two routes that were chosen by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism for the “Vuela Sin Parar” Campaign, a project whose purpose is the “promotion of new destinations and/or national routes”, and which will receive economic and promotional incentives from the government.

EasyFly and Avianca initiate first phase of Code-Sharing agreement.

“We are proud to have the most complete network in Colombia and one of the largest in Latin America. To continue moving forward, we are increasing our point-to-point offer in the country’s domestic market and thanks to the opportunity granted to us by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism in conjunction with Fontur, we will not only achieve this goal, but we will also be able to serve markets where Avianca’s presence can boost economic development. An example of these are Cali and Bucaramanga, strategic cities that are increasingly strengthening their ties with the tourism industry and fostering alliances with the airline market,” said David Alemán, Avianca’s Director of Sales Colombia and South America.

Ricardo Galindo Bueno, Vice Minister of Tourism, stated that “By supporting the Cali-Bucaramanga route, we are generating connectivity between two important tourist regions of the country, thus providing Colombian and foreign tourists with access to new travel combinations and allowing them to visit more places in Colombia with direct flights. Likewise, this new route is a valuable contribution to the economic development of these two important regions.

The flights connecting these two cities will be operated on Airbus A320 family aircraft with capacity for more than 180 passengers. This translates for the market and for travelers into an offer of more than 1,000 seats per week.
