LATAM is once again the leading Brazilian commercial airline in April 2022, with a 34.5% share of the domestic market, according to consolidated data from the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) released on Friday. During the month, the company continued its recovery process and increased the air network with more flights between the capital cities and its main hubs and cities that are the focus of its investments in Brazil. São Paulo (Congonhas and Guarulhos), Rio de Janeiro (Santos Dumont and Galeão), Brasilia and Fortaleza. With this, LATAM has been leading the Brazilian air market since February of this year.
“Leisure tourism, mainly to destinations in the Brazilian Northeast, had already recovered with the progress of vaccination against Covid-19 and the easing of sanitary restrictions. Recently, business tourism has also started to demand more flights. Therefore, we have sequentially expanded the operations of the São Paulo-Rio de Janeiro Air Shuttle and other routes capable of connecting more people to more destinations in our hubs,” explains Aline Mafra, LATAM Brazil’s Sales and Marketing Director.
