LATAM Airlines will inaugurate on November 1 its flights between Curitiba and Santiago de Chile. The initiative, in addition to expanding connectivity in Paraná, will make Curitiba the fifth Brazilian city for the airline to have international flights, after Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro (Galeão) and São Paulo (Guarulhos).
The new route will operate three weekly flights (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) with Airbus A320 aircraft, which can carry up to 176 passengers (8 Premium Economy and 168 in Economy).
→ LATAM will resume flights between São Paulo and Boston starting in October.
According to Aline Mafra, Director of Marketing and Sales of LATAM Brazil, in addition to meeting current demand, the inclusion of Curitiba among the airports with international flights reflects the company’s process of returning to the international market. “Curitiba deserves this investment and our focus continues to be the sustainable growth of our air network, allocating supply where there is potential demand. In addition to resuming and inaugurating flights, we are managing to diversify airports with international operations. This generates value for the different regions of Brazil and more convenience for customers in terms of connectivity and travel time”.
Compared to a connecting flight in São Paulo, for example, the direct Curitiba-Santiago route will reduce the total travel time between the two South American cities by almost 50%.
