Qantas announces direct flights between Auckland and New York
Qantas reported this Thursday that it will resume flights to New York, with a new service from Australia to the Big Apple via Auckland from June 14, 2023, after a pause of three years induced by COVID.
The route will initially operate three weekly flights on Boeing 787 Dreamliners.

Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce said flying via Auckland would provide better connectivity from more destinations in Australia, ahead of a 16-hour uninterrupted flight to New York.
“We are flying to most of our pre-COVID destinations again, which is a fantastic achievement for our teams and hugely important for Australians to reconnect with the rest of the world.
Qantas currently operates six daily services to Auckland from Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, which will increase to 11 daily services when the new flight to New York is launched.
