SKY, the Chilean low cost airline founded in 2002, closes the first semester with positive results. The company as a whole, considering the operations in Chile and Peru, transported a total of 3,308,746 passengers in the first half of the year, 149% more than the same period in 2021 and 30% more than in 2019.
The airline registered significant growth in its cargo business during this semester, moving 72% more tons of cargo than in the same period of 2019 in both countries.

“During these difficult years of the pandemic at SKY we have learned to be agile, adapt quickly to changes and continue to strengthen our businesses, with new routes and products for our customers. We want our passengers to continue choosing us, to be able to continue traveling in the newest and most environmentally friendly fleet on the continent, receiving an accessible, simple and convenient service”, said José Ignacio Dougnac, CEO of SKY.
Added to these results, SKY managed to be the Chilean airline with the highest occupancy rate in Chile in the period January-May 2022. According to statistics from the Civil Aeronautical Board (JAC), the company registered an occupancy factor of 86%. in January, 85% in February, 80% in March, 82% in April, and 82% in May, 5 percentage points above the national average.
More than 43 million passengers in 21 years
Within the framework of these results, the company announced that in its 21st year of life, it exceeded 43 million passengers transported in its history, currently flying to 14 destinations in Chile and 11 international destinations and 12 domestic destinations within Peru.
