Wingo announces the expansion of its itinerary until May 2023 with a 20% growth in its flight offer. This extension, which runs from March 30 to May 16, 2023, includes 2,168 flights that mean an offer of 403 thousand seats.
The airline will offer 682 additional flights in the domestic market, represented by 127 thousand seats. This figure is due to the launch of new routes within Colombia such as Bogotá-Armenia, as well as the increase in capacity in Bogotá-Medellín and Bogotá-Cartagena.
→ Wingo requests authorization to fly to Valencia, Venezuela.
On the other hand, Wingo will put 1,486 new flights on the international market, totaling 276,000 available seats and representing a 31% growth in possibilities for trips abroad. This increase is based on the launch of new international routes such as Medellín – Aruba and Medellín – Havana, as well as a series of capacity increases on routes that connect Bogotá with Panama and San José de Costa Rica, as well as with Santo Domingo and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. From Medellin, frequency increases were also made to Santo Domingo and Panama.
“Now our itinerary is available until May 2023; an itinerary with more and more alternatives for those travelers who enjoy the Wingo experience and prefer a Buena Onda alternative, on time and at low prices. This expansion of the network shows the growth of the airline, since today we offer 193% of the seats that we had published prior to the pandemic; which ratifies the relevance, convenience and preference of the low-cost model”, assured Jorge Jiménez, Commercial and Planning Director of Wingo.
Two new routes from Panama City
Panama – Havana and Panama – Santo Domingo are the new routes that Wingo will offer, thus boosting the offer of flights between Central America and the Caribbean as it is the only low-cost airline to offer both routes. The flight to Havana will take off on September 3. Similarly, the route between Panama and Santo Domingo will have its inaugural flight on October 6.
