The Civil Aeronautics presented this Monday the report on passenger mobilization and cargo transportation by air in 2022.
According to figures consolidated by the Directorate of Air Transport and Aerocommercial Affairs, 48,004,000 passengers were mobilized in Colombia during 2022.

This represents an increase of 57.2% of people mobilized in 2021, or 17,459,000 more people than the previous year when a total of 30,545,000 passengers were mobilized. In contrast to 2019, 6,704,000 more passengers were mobilized in 2022, representing a growth of 16.2%.
Of the total number of passengers mobilized by air in 2022, 32,742,000 did so to and from domestic airports and 15,262,000 to and from airports around the world.
Air cargo transportation
In 2022, airlines operating in Colombia transported 886,606 tons of cargo and mail. This represents an increase of 5% compared to what was transported in 2021 with 844,694 tons.
According to the Minister of Transportation, Guillermo Francisco Reyes González, “this is a remarkable and absolutely important achievement of the aviation industry and the air sector in general. But it is also a demonstration of the commitment of the National Government, the Civil Aeronautics and the entire supply chain and the people who facilitate the operation of the aircraft. Undoubtedly, this year 2023 we will also break records in the mobilization of passengers and cargo in Colombia”.
According to historical figures, 2022 was the most representative year in history for aviation in Colombia.
