LATAM resumes direct flights between Santiago and Porto Alegre
This Sunday, LATAM Airlines resumed service between Santiago and Porto Alegre, Brazil, becoming the only operator with a direct and permanent flight between the two cities.
Initially, the airline will offer three frequencies per week (Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) in Airbus A320 aircraft with capacity for 174 passengers.

In line with its sustainability efforts, most of the airline’s fleet is equipped with software that reduces annual CO2 emissions by more than 60,000 tons by optimizing the aircraft’s landing trajectory.
“We are very pleased to continue contributing to the region’s connectivity. Brazil is a market where we have many synergies, both business and tourism, and Porto Alegre is a destination that is gaining popularity every day. In our first year of operation alone, we expect to carry 42,000 passengers,” said María Paz Villasante, LATAM’s Commercial Strategy Manager.
With this restart, LATAM will operate 5 international routes from both countries: from Santiago de Chile to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Porto Alegre and Florianópolis (the latter only in the summer period).
