Austrian Airlines to renew its long-haul fleet with 10 Boeing 787-9 jets
Austrian Airlines announced Wednesday that it will add 10 Boeing 787-9 jets to boost the modernization and growth of its long-haul fleet.
The first Dreamliner will land in early 2024 in Vienna and will expand the airline’s fleet to 66 aircraft during next year’s summer program.
Nine additional Boeing 787-9s are expected to replace the existing long-haul 777 and 767 families by 2028.

These “Dreamliners” will gradually be transferred from the Lufthansa Group’s existing orders.
“With the Dreamliner, Austrian Airlines is taking off into a new aircraft era and is on course for growth. The introduction of ten Boeing 787-9s into the fleet over the next five years shows that we are prepared for investments and the future,” says Austrian Airlines CEO Annette Mann.
