Wingo announced that it is suspending its route between Bogota and Mexico City as of April 19.

The company indicated that this modification to its route network was made in order to place more seat capacity on routes where it identifies a greater need for supply, such as the Colombian domestic market, where a relevant capacity addition will be implemented in the coming weeks.

Passengers with tickets purchased to fly on the route after April 19 may choose one of the following options:

  • Re-route without penalty charge.
  • Request reimbursement of 100 percent of the ticket value and obtain additional compensation equivalent to 30 percent of the airfare. This payment can be obtained in a voucher or in the form of payment of the ticket.
  • April travelers may request the endorsement option through Copa Airlines to fly to the destination.

Wingo indicated that it maintains its direct routes to Cancun from Bogota, Medellin and Cali.
