Royal Jordanian Airlines to add eight new Embraer E-Jets E2
Embraer and business aviation lessor Azorra announced Thursday a new agreement for eight aircraft with Royal Jordanian Airlines, which will see the introduction of the E190-E2 and E195-E2 into the airline’s fleet. Deliveries are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2023.
The agreement covers four E190-E2s and four E195-E2s, with a list price of $635 million.
Following Royal Jordanian Airlines’ announcement in October last year, in which the airline revealed plans to expand its fleet with new-generation aircraft, the E2 was chosen specifically for its performance and operational efficiency.

The E195-E2s will seat 12 passengers in Crown Class and 108 in Economy. The E190-E2s will have the same number of seats in Crown Class and 80 in Economy. All aircraft feature the distinctive 2-2 “no middle seat” seating.
“After extensive feasibility studies, we selected the Embraer E2 as the best fit for our financial objectives and network strategy. Royal Jordanian has been operating Embraer aircraft for 15 years, and the E2 significantly reduces the cost of investment in pilot training and spare parts procurement, while reducing crew scheduling and maintenance costs,” said Samer Majali, Vice President and CEO of Royal Jordanian Airlines.
