Copa Airlines inaugurated this Tuesday its new route to and from Barquisimeto, connecting for the first time the Venezuelan central-western region with 76 destinations in 31 countries of the American continent, through the Hub of the Americas, located in Panama City.

“We remain committed to strengthening our presence in Venezuela and offering more connection options with the American continent. Connectivity is key to the economic and social development of all the destinations where we operate, and to achieve this we always work hand in hand with the authorities and tourism associations, our main allies to achieve our mission of uniting the Americas,” said Pedro Heilbron, CEO of Copa Airlines.

Copa Airlines recognized as one of the “15 Best International Airlines”

The new route to Barquisimeto will operate three weekly frequencies on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departing at 9:13 a.m. from Panama and arriving at Jacinto Lara International Airport at 12:18 p.m. (local time). The return flight will depart from Barquisimeto at 1:28 p.m., arriving in Panama City at 2:33 p.m. (local time).

Thus, the city of Barquisimeto becomes the number five destination in Venezuela, consolidating Copa Airlines and Panama as the most important airline and international connection point of the South American country with the rest of the continent. Currently, adding the three frequencies to the “musical city of the country,” the airline operates more than 40 weekly frequencies, also flying to Caracas, Valencia, Maracaibo and Barcelona.
