The Spanish airline Volotea announced this Monday that it transported its 55 millionth passenger. Moreover, it achieves this in a year in which it has presented its largest offer in history, with nearly 12 million seats in more than 105 airports and in the year in which it expects record growth and high profitability.
The airline’s 55 millionth passenger landed last Thursday in Strasbourg, a new milestone for the Spanish airline that started flying in 2012 and connects Europe’s medium and small cities where there is latent unmet demand.

The 55 millionth passenger was Lucie Charteau who, in addition to being welcomed with honors by crew members and part of the Volotea team, received a year of free flights for her and four people of her choice to any of the more than 100 cities the airline flies to.
“The 55 million passengers is a major business milestone that consolidates the airline’s position as a benchmark for connecting small and medium-sized cities in Europe. It also symbolizes the excellent reception of our historical offer of routes and seats, but, above all, it is a recognition by our customers, our top priority, as evidenced by the fact that more than 90% of our customers recommend Volotea as their preferred option for flying,” said Carlos Muñoz, CEO and founder of Volotea.
