The Dominican airline Arajet received more than 30 children from the Huellas de Arcoiris Foundation as part of its social responsibility program “Pilot for a day”, which seeks to motivate the preparation of Dominican talent in areas related to aeronautics.

Victor Pacheco Méndez, CEO & Founder of Arajet, said that through this initiative the airline seeks to create in Dominican children an interest in the world of commercial aviation and that in the future they can be part of the local talents that make up the airline.

“At Arajet we are committed to an educational culture where Dominican children and teenagers are interested in aviation-related careers and can belong to the airline.

The group of children were welcomed by the airline’s CEO and toured Arajet’s headquarters and then visited the hangar at the Las Americas International Airport in Santo Domingo. During the trip they were able to meet the aircraft maintenance team, pilots, cabin crew, visit the control cabin and enjoy a series of amenities.

This initiative seeks to give underprivileged children the opportunity to experience an airplane and become familiar with the idea that someday they may belong to the team that makes Arajet’s operations possible.
