Iberia Express announced that it will increase its operations with the Canary Islands, with 74 extra flights and 13,500 additional seats, in response to the increase in demand expected due to the celebration of Carnival.

The airline will reinforce the connection with Gran Canaria airport by adding 32 flights and more than 5,500 additional seats, which represents a 6% growth compared to the base schedule for February, and 28% more capacity compared to last year’s carnival.

In the case of Tenerife, it adds 36 flights to its operations on the route between Madrid and Tenerife North, and more than 6,700 additional seats, which represents an 8% increase in capacity compared to that initially programmed and 29% more than the same period last year.

Iberia Express closes 2023 with record number of passengers transported

The island of La Palma will also see its operations reinforced by adding six flights and nearly 1,100 additional seats, increasing capacity by almost 8% for this period.

“We know that during this period there are many tourists who want to travel to the Canary Islands to enjoy the islands and their unique atmosphere, and also many residents who live these holidays in a very special way and want to share them with family and friends. For this reason, we have decided to increase the number of flights and schedules available during these dates, thus expanding the travel options for all our customers,” said Isabel Rodriguez, commercial director of Iberia Express.

These reinforcement flights represent a 20% increase in Iberia Express capacity during the month of February and throughout the archipelago compared to the same period in 2023.
