Ryanair launched its new Future Flyer Academy pilot training program on Wednesday, in partnership with Spain-based flight school FTEJerez.

The program will train more than 400 aspiring pilots, who will eventually join the Ryanair workforce over the next four years.

Ryanair’s Future Flyer Academy offers applicants the opportunity to begin their career in commercial aviation through a world-class combination of classroom, simulator and hands-on training with a defined pathway to employment with Ryanair.

For several years, FTEJerez has been training aspiring pilots to a level where they can complete their type rating course to operate Ryanair Group’s Boeing 737 or Airbus A320 aircraft.

Through the new Future Flyer Academy program, this initial training is combined with the type rating qualification to accelerate the pilot training process.

“We are delighted to launch the Future Flyer Academy in partnership with FTEJerez in Spain. By combining Ryanair’s industry-leading expertise with FTEJerez’s world-class training programs, our Future Flyer Academy will create unprecedented opportunities for hundreds of aspiring aviators looking to start a well-paid career in aviation as a commercial pilot,” commented Ryanair’s Country Manager in Spain, Elena Cabrera.
