American Airlines announced Thursday that it will launch five new routes to Europe by summer 2025. The airline will resume flights to Edinburgh, Scotland, for the first time since 2019 and add new routes to Athens, Madrid, Milan and Rome.
“We look forward to providing customers more ways to visit their favorite destinations in Europe next summer,” said Brian Znotins, American’s Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning.
More new ways to explore Europe
From Philadelphia, customers will be able to connect from more than 80 U.S. destinations to 17 transatlantic destinations, including new service to Edinburgh.
The airline will expand its offerings to Italy next year with new flights from Miami to Rome and from Philadelphia to Milan. American will offer flights to Rome from six U.S. airports by 2025.

With the new service from Charlotte to Athens, American will offer four daily flights to Greece by 2025, providing access to that country from more U.S. airports than any other airline next summer.
For the first time, the airline will connect its Chicago hub with Madrid. American is the U.S. airline with the most flights to Spain.
The airline will also offer more than 70 daily departures to more than 20 transatlantic destinations by summer 2025. Launched in 2024, American will again offer flights to Copenhagen, Naples and Nice.
Customers who dream of visiting Paris will have more ways to visit the French capital with the extension of winter seasonal service from Miami into the summer.
