GOL resumes nonstop flights between Rio de Janeiro and Montevideo
Brazilian airline GOL resumed non-stop flights between Rio de Janeiro and Montevideo (Uruguay) on Sunday.
The route will operate 3 flights per week until October 26, and then increase its frequencies to 4 per week.

Uruguayans traveling through Rio will be able to connect to other Brazilian cities such as Recife, Fortaleza, Salvador, Belo Horizonte/Confins, Foz do Iguaçu, Vitória, Curitiba, Florianópolis, Campinas/Viracopos and São Paulo/Congonhas. International connections are also facilitated, either with GOL itself or with various partner airlines operating at Rio-Galeão Airport.
“South America is a traditional market for GOL, and Montevideo is an important part of it. We are delighted to expand our international offering to the Marvelous City, contributing to the growth of tourism, business and commerce in Rio de Janeiro,” said Bruno Balan, executive manager of Airline Network Planning for GOL.
This resumption marks a key step in GOL’s strategy to expand its international network, strengthening its presence in Uruguay and adding this route to the existing scheduled flights between Sao Paulo and Montevideo.
