After a summer season in which Norwegian set a record number of passengers carried in July, the airline is preparing for the start of the winter season with a strong commitment to growth in the Spanish market. Specifically, the company will offer 58 routes to and from Spanish airports, which means the creation of ten new routes in the country compared to last year.

Among the most popular routes that Norwegian will make available to its passengers this winter are links to and from the airports of Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Alicante, Malaga and Barcelona.

The focus on these key routes and the Spanish market has resulted in a 20% increase in available capacity that the company is offering for sale to passengers traveling to or from Spain in the coming months.

“Continuing to grow in Spain is always good news for Norwegian. Our passengers are showing increasing interest in destinations that start or end their journey in Spain,” said Geir Karlsen, CEO of Norwegian.

Among the new routes offered to or from Spain this winter is the opening of the new link between the cities of Alicante and Riga. This route will be seasonal and will start operating from the end of October to the end of April.

In addition, passengers will be able to benefit from Norwegian’s other destinations to/from Alicante this winter, such as Copenhagen, Helsinki, Munich, Ålesund, Bergen, Haugesund, Oslo, Stavanger, Trondheim, Sandefjord, Stockholm-Arlanda, Stockholm-Skavsta and Gothenburg.

The other Spanish airports with routes scheduled for this winter are Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga, Tenerife South, Palma de Mallorca, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote.
